Case Study Details:

With the roadmap out of the lockdown now announced, we have had many commercial site owners contact our team to complete cleaning and maintenance jobs ahead of their staffs return. In this instance, our client requested pressure washing on the pavement around their building to remove the green moss that had been left to accumulate.

Client Requests & What We Did:

As you can see from the photos below, all of the paving slabs that surrounded this commercial property were covered in green moss. The growth of moss on pavements can be incredibly common for larger buildings as the green deposits develop when the surface is not exposed to much sunlight. This means if you have walkways around the property, just like our client did, the building will be shading the pavement, promoting the growth of moss. Allowing the moss to accumulate not only looks unsightly but can also cause slipping hazards, especially in the colder months when there is constant rainfall.

Although you cannot prevent the moss from growing altogether, one way to manage the problem ahead of time is to schedule regular pressure washing. This is exactly what we recommended to our client as it would allow the existing moss to be removed and restore the slabs to their original condition. The results are fantastic, and the building is now looking as good as new ready for everyone to return back to work!

Client Feedback

"Great job all round from the team at Facilities Company, we’re so pleased with the difference after pressure washing. We’ve used similar companies in the past that have been nowhere near as good at getting the job done quickly, professionally and to a high standard. We’ll definitely be using them from now on!"
